Function Report Dated January 13, 2006.

 

            The 3rd Ambedkar Scholarships function was scheduled at 4.00 P M but started at 5.00 PM for obvious delays such as late arrival of Guest and Chief Guest due to traffic conditions. But we are glad to give better report than ever about the function. All 36 awardees are well in time though 3 awardees were represented by their kith and kin along with their letters seeking exemption as they were not well. There was more than 150 gathering including the awardees. This year due to change in management of College where the function was held was not supportive, but we have managed the show.

 

            VCD of 2004 function was played and liked and appreciated by all. The photo gallery of 2003 and 2004 has drawn keen interest of all the participants including guests and guest of honour Mr. B.Victor Babu. The project report was read by Mr. A. Devdas.

 

            Message of the founder Mr. Benjamin Paul Kaila was read in two parts by Baby Vazra Sravani and Master A. Pratheek was applauded by all include the Chief Guest Prof. Kancha Ilaiah. While reading the message of Mr. Paul the punch words are “we are not inferior, we are superior” has charged the audience.   

 

While Mrs. Jhansi K V Kumari, Programme Officer, Vividha Bharathi, All India Radio, Hyderbad and special speaker for the function delivering speech said “we are not unfortunate, we are fortunate” to be born as dalits. This has inspired and chanted by the audience.

 

Mr. B. Victor Babu, Principal working in Tanzania has given an inspiring speech as Guest of Honor and impressed upon the students to educate themselves and society around them stating that “tomorrow is yours” and one must dream and achieve the goals with dedication and hardwork by taking Dr. BR Ambedkar as HERO with dignity of Labour.

 

As the audience was waiting for the speech of Prof. Kancha Ilaiah, the time has demanded him to deliver to speech. While delivering the message Prof. Ilaiah, has asked students to be humble and show dignity of Labour and work hard to become a model dalit like as Dr. BR Ambedkar. He has also appreciated the speech of Mr. Paul. He has suggested to call all the awardees next year also and conduct spot test on any topic chosen and award prizes which will enable us to monitor their performance and asked us to present literature on Ambedkar, which we were already doing. The performance monitoring should be there so that the awardees go in a right track and become useful to the society. Though this is a long run process we hope that we can do, then only the motto behind this scholarship will be achieved.

 

The scholarships were awarded to the all the 36 students through the hands of Prof. Ilaiah, Mrs. Jhansi K V Kumari, Mr. B Victor Babu, and Mrs. Shanthabai Chavan, Mr. Anand Paul, Mrs. Anand Paul, Baby Vazra Sravani, Baby Reesa Jasmin, Master Pratheek, Mrs. Ratnasree, Mrs. Kavitha Prabha, Mr. Rambabu, Mr. Aravind, and Mr. Bhupathi Sampath Rao being the representatives of various donors. We are thankful to them for being present and represent the donors of this noble cause.

 

Soon after this, response from scholars was invited and 4 of the awardees has thanked the donors and promised to utilize this money for right cause and want to pay back to society once they growing life.

 

Though the parents were asked to respond but none of them responded as many of them are illiterate and shy.

 

From the audience Mr. Aravind, brother-in-law of Dr. Venkat Maroju, Bosten, USA has thanked the donors and advised the awardees to utilize the time and money and realize the life through education. Mr. Goverdhana Chari has given an inspiring speech to the students as well as donors and audience.

 

Mementoes were given to the Guests on the Dias and vote of Thanks was presented by Mr. P.Vijayavardhan Rao, Coordinator and thanked all the donors by name, the founder, the college authorities, the students, parents, invitees of last year, audience, representative of Donors, and Mr. Miraj Paul for donating a pen set to all the awardees as a token of spontaneous love.

 

The function concluded at 7.20 PM followed by snacks and students left for their respective native places filled with joy and promise.

 

PUNCH

  1. Mr. P. Rajvardhan Rao, brother of P.Vijayvardhan Rao has responded spontaneously and awarded one scholarship to Mr. B. Srinivasulu as 37th awardees for this year and from this year.
  2. Smt. Jhansi K V Kumari, Special Speaker was thrilled with joy and promised to give one SS from next year.
  3. Mr. Jason Babu a good supporter of the cause has promised one SS from next year through his only son Mr. Miraj Paul in the name of his late mother to a girl candidate.

 

This shows the impact created by the good work of (y)ours and everybody blessed the donors and the founders “long live Ambedkar Scholarships”

 

With this the curtain for the function 2005 was drawn with an inspiration to continue the work with continued support of all the donors and donors and donors……………………
